Yes, it can work with 3 HDDs and it is software RAID. Also, in RAID 0, only the smallest size HDD will be used (eg. 2x 1.5TB and 1x 1TB HDD, total volume will become 3 TB).

it says on neweggs website that this controller Supports up to 2TB HDD,

Does this mean it supports a single 2tb drive, my plan was to raid 0 three 1.5tb drives making a 4.5tb array, will this work

also is this a hardware or software raid
